As a time-honored key comprehensive university under the direct supervision of China's Ministry of Education (MOE), Shandong University (SDU) boasts distinctive features in its education and research. The School of Energy and Power Engineering at Shandong University was founded in 1958. It has established a complete teaching system that covers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and post-doctoral education. The discipline of Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics is one of the key disciplines in Shandong University. The School has more than one hundred staff, including two “Yangtze River Plan” Scholars. The research fields in School of Energy and Power Engineering mainly include theory and application of heat transfer enhancement, clean combustion and pollutant emission control, thermal energy utilization and energy saving, internal combustion engine and new energy automobile, refrigeration and cryogenic technology, new energy development and utilization.
