Professor Colin Snape from Nottingham University, Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh was employed as an Honorary Chair Professor at Shandong University on 19th August 2019. Colin Snape’s appointment ceremony was held in the central campus of Shandong University. Chen Zijiang, Vice-President of Shandong University, attended the ceremony. Professor Liu Linhua, Dean of the School of Energy and Power Engineering, hosted the ceremony.

Vice-President Chen Zijiang extended her welcome to Professor Colin Snape and his visiting delegation. Chen mentioned that Professor Colin Snape will bring more opportunities for the cooperation between Shandong University and Nottingham University.

Professor Liu Linhua introduced Professor Colin Snape’s research background and his team. Professor Liu mentioned that School of Energy and Power Engineering at Shandong University has already built a deep cooperation relationship with Nottingham University, Prof Colin Snape’s enrolment will make the cooperation more profound.

Professor Colin Snape and his delegation (Professor Hao Liu, Cheng-Gong Sun) also visited the National Engineering Laboratory of Coal-fired Pollutants Emission Reduction and Shandong Engineering Laboratory of Green Materials from Solid Waste. Professor Wang Wenlong, vice-dean of School of Energy and Power Engineering, introduced the laboratory equipments to visitors.
